Wait | Think

Wait | Think published on

Wait, Think.

Wait, long enough to think at least;

as opposed to just unthinkingly reacting!

_______________________________________________

There have been a couple of acronyms I have seen online, here and there – mostly on social media – that I quite like. And, they fit together really well.

WAIT ⇒ Why  Am  I  Talking ?

&

THINK ⇒ Is it:  True | Helpful  | Inspiring | Necessary  and  Kind ?

In my typical TME fashion I’d like to play a bit with these acronyms.
There is certainly more than one way to:

WAIT | THINK | WAIT and THINK | WAIT or THINK | WAIT and/or THINK | WAIT, THINK! |WAIT? THINK? | WAIT! THINK!
{Wait, did I miss any? Think.}

~AND~

There is certainly more than one way to:
@ put them together @
— align them —
#27 – team them up – #11
≠ differentiate≠them ≠
<↑>let them fly together<↑>
)( have them bump up against each other )(
*~ play together ~*

And, in typical TME fashion I’m getting over excited again

I’ll stop now

Wait

WAITWhy  Am  I  Talking ?

Or

In this case, Why am I Blogging?

 Granted, WAIB isn’t quite as ‘catchy’ an acronym as WAIT

Please note:

From Therapy Made Easy’s  perspective waiting is not at all a  passive activity.  It is something chosen willingly, with full awareness and practiced consciously.

At  www.dictionary.reference.com I found a surprising number of definitions for the word ‘wait‘. Here are a few of my favourites that I feel are relevant from a TME  perspective:

~ to be available or in readiness for ~ to look forward to ~ continue as one is in expectation of ~ be reserved for ~ an act or instance of waiting or awaiting

~ And, last but not least my very favourite:

~ to attend upon or escort, especially as a sign of respect ~

The words that I love the most in this definition are ‘escort‘ and ‘respect‘.

As a therapist it is, of course, my hope and intention to (among other things) travel with | be by the side of,  and escort my fellow travelers wherever they need to go in order to grow and be well;

&

Respect is something we all deserve.
To attend upon | wait as a sign of respect.
I think that says it all.

Obviously,

…there’s a lot more that could be said about Waiting. And, again for TME’s purposes, I’m feeling this is a good place to leave it:

 | be available for |
| reserved for |
| awaiting |
| expecting the best of/for |
| being willing to escort |
| being respectful of |

If I am speaking from these places then I KNOW

Why I Am Talking;

…for the right reasons

~

WIAT ? …oh well, that’s a little better than WAIB

THINK

THINK ⇒ Is it:  True | Helpful  | Inspiring | Necessary  and  Kind ?

I ‘m not sure I have much to add to these self-explanatory words readers. Let’s see what I’ve got:

True – well, truth can be very subjective. And complicated. It can be subjective from a heart perspective | and from a head perspective | and from a heart+head perspective. So, for the sake of simplicity {this is Therapy Made EASY after all}  and , keeping in mind this should fit with Helpful,  Inspiring and Kind let’s go with the truth in your Heart on this one.

Helpful – oh boy, I guess this can be kind of subjective as well.
What’s good for the goose…may not necessarily be good for the gander!
Okay, if you know the person you might have a good idea what they may consider Helpful?  If the conversation allows, you might ask them what they would find Helpful? If neither of these work (and you can’t come up with anything else) then go with your Heart response.  At the very least keep as wide a berth as possible to anything remotely hinting of harm! I think that’s all I have to offer at the moment on this one.

Inspiring – again, could be subjective :/
Hmm, the lustre is wearing off a bit; maybe I don’t care for this acronym quite as much as I initially thought.  Hang in there TME!
Guess | Ask | Go with your Heart…

Next..

NecessaryGuess | Ask | Heart = GAH

KindGAH!!    Be Kind to Yourself – go with my new acronym ~ GAH
